Why TapEP exists
Hadi Abdoliamin founded TapEP in the United Kingdom after talking to local shops that take orders by phone. For them, getting paid when the customer isn’t at the counter was harder than it should be.
His approach is problem-led: look closely at everyday friction, listen to the people who live with it, and build the simplest thing that fixes it.
What TapEP does
TapEP is an iPhone app. A shop enters an amount and a reason, shares the link, and the customer pays by card, including Apple Pay and Google Pay where available, on Stripe’s secure payment page. The money goes straight into the shop’s own Stripe account. TapEP’s fee is 1% of each payment. Stripe’s fees are separate.
The shop stays the seller. Stripe processes each payment. TapEP doesn’t hold money or keep card details.
The idea behind it
Hadi’s aim isn’t to replace banks or payment networks, but to make paying a local shop simpler for everyone. TapEP does one job, getting a shop paid by link, and does it simply.
