TapEP technology fee
1% of each successfully completed TapEP-facilitated payment. The fee is charged to the participating merchant for use of TapEP’s software and merchant-payment workflow.
Stripe fees
Stripe processing and any other Stripe fees apply separately under the participating merchant’s Stripe arrangements. TapEP does not describe Stripe’s charges as part of the TapEP 1% technology fee.
When the TapEP fee applies
The TapEP technology fee applies to successfully completed TapEP-facilitated payments. Customer refunds, cancellations and disputes are handled under the participating merchant’s responsibilities and the published Refunds, Cancellations & Disputes Policy; merchant-side treatment of the TapEP technology fee is governed by the applicable merchant agreement.
Who pays
The participating merchant pays the TapEP technology fee. The initial UK pilot does not advertise a separate consumer subscription charge.
Payment structure
Under the intended Stripe Connect model, the participating merchant remains responsible for the underlying sale and receives the customer payment through its connected Stripe account. TapEP provides the software layer around the payment-request journey and does not hold customer funds.
