Clear merchant pricing

Simple pricing for the planned TapEP pilot.

TapEP is designed so participating merchants can understand the platform fee before they use a TapEP-facilitated payment journey.

Controlled pilot pricing. This page states the commercial model intended for the initial UK merchant pilot and will be kept aligned with the merchant agreement before production payment functionality is enabled.

TapEP technology fee

1% of each successfully completed TapEP-facilitated payment. The fee is charged to the participating merchant for use of TapEP’s SaaS software and merchant-payment workflow and is intended to be collected as a Stripe Connect application fee on the direct charge.

Stripe fees

Stripe processing and any other Stripe fees apply separately under the participating merchant’s Stripe arrangements. TapEP does not describe Stripe’s charges as part of the TapEP 1% technology fee.

When the TapEP fee applies

The TapEP technology fee applies to successfully completed TapEP-facilitated payments. Customer refunds, cancellations and disputes are handled under the participating merchant’s responsibilities and the published Refunds, Cancellations & Disputes Policy. Before production payment functionality is enabled, the merchant agreement will state clearly how the 1% TapEP technology fee is calculated and whether it is retained, refunded or reversed following a full refund, partial refund, cancellation or payment dispute. This treatment will not reduce any refund amount owed by the merchant to the customer.

Who pays

The participating merchant pays the TapEP technology fee. TapEP does not charge the customer a separate TapEP fee for the planned initial UK pilot.

Payment structure

Under the intended Stripe Connect SaaS model, the participating merchant remains the merchant of record and each customer payment is created as a direct charge on that merchant’s connected account. The merchant receives settlement through Stripe. TapEP provides the software layer, does not receive or control the merchant’s settlement proceeds, does not hold customer funds and does not create transfers to merchants.

Transparency first. Pricing, merchant fee treatment and any optional merchant services will be disclosed before a merchant commits to them. Customer refund and cancellation responsibilities are described separately in our Refunds, Cancellations & Disputes Policy. Nothing on this page changes Stripe’s own pricing or terms.
T TapEP

TapEP is a UK SaaS payment-technology platform for participating merchants. Under the intended production model, each payment is a direct charge on the merchant’s Stripe connected account; the merchant is the merchant of record and TapEP collects a 1% application fee from the merchant.
